Introduction
by the Head of Department, Dr Una Mc Mahon-Beattie
The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management is based on both the Belfast Campus and Coleraine Campus of the University of Ulster and offers a range of specialist programmes of study at both at undergraduate and post graduate levels, on a full time and part time basis.
Programmes delivered on the Coleraine campus are within the specialism of travel, tourism, leisure and events. We also deliver the BSc Hons Consumer Studies degree which includes aspects of the design, development, management of consumer products and services. |
 |
On the Belfast campus the specialism focuses on hospitality, hotel & tourism and culinary arts. All undergraduate programmes of study incorporate key management modules alongside the specialist modules, therefore providing our students with the breadth of knowledge required by the hospitality and tourism industry. Our masters programmes, including Cultural Management, Event Management, International Tourism Development and International Hotel and Tourism Management are delivered in mixed learning mode, some in three day blocks and some online, providing greater flexibility for our students.
The award winning Academy Restaurant provides the interface between industry, the general public and the Department. It reflects, through the professionalism of the students, the high quality of education and training which the Department provides.
With key programmes accredited by the Institute of Hospitality, the Department is proud of its position in the league tables: |
